Belagavi: Chairman of Sangolli Rayana Cooperative Credit Society and also noted film producer and director, Anand Appugol who was arrested from his friend’s apartment in Panvel, Mumbai on Monday has been remanded to four-day police custody.

He owes crores of money to thousands of his customers who are demanding repayment of their deposits for the past few weeks. Appugol was absconding for the last few weeks with customers intensifying their agitations. Earlier, JMFC-10 had rejected the anticipatory bail sought by Appugol which forced the latter to move more applications for bail in other local courts.
