Belagavi: Fearing the possible consequences of taking an anti-Karnataka stand on the occasion of Rajyotsava Day, Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) ensured that its Black Day rally remained low-key and not against the state government. Instead, the MES called its today’s protest as one against the Centre.

Maharashtra MLA Nitesh Rane featured in the Black Day rally taken out by MES started from Sambhaji Garden and passed through several areas of the city before reaching Maratha Mandir. In a convention held at Maratha Mandir Rane addressed the gathering. Several pro-Maharashtra leaders including Deepak Dalvi, Manohar Kinekar, Sanjota Bandekar, Kiran Thakur were present.
