Belagavi: Indian Pharmaceutical Association, local branch, Belagavi, in association with KLE College of Pharmacy, Belagavi celebrated “World Pharmacist Day -2018” with the theme of “Pharmacist your Medicines Experts”. During the celebration, all the pharmacies in KLE’S Dr Pabhakar Kore hospital campus and Pradhanmantri Janaushadi Kendra of Pharmacy College were decorated and drug information pamphlets were distributed to patients by pharmacy students.
On this occasion, the formal function was organised and was inaugurated by Mr Deepak Gaikwad, Deputy Drugs Controller, Belagavi division. Prof. Kirankumar Hullatti, President IPA local branch has welcomed the gathering and briefed about the activities of the local branch. Dr M.S. Ganachari, Deputy Registrar, KAHER, Belagavi in his speech highlighted the importance of Pharmacist Day celebration and responsibilities of pharmacy students towards the community. The chief guest of the function Mr Deepak Gaikwad addressed the students and pharmacists with respect to “Ethics and Responsibilities of Community Pharmacist”. Dr B.M. Patil, Principal, KLE College of Pharmacy, Belagavi in his presidential remarks directed the students to be responsible future pharmacists. At the end of the event, the Pharmacist oath was administered. The function was attended by staff of Drugs Controller Department, KLE College of Pharmacy, Belagavi and members of Chemists and Druggists Association.
