Belagavi: The BJP, not only in the constituencies it representing but also in the constituencies of Congress representing got more votes than its nearest contester. BJP candidate Suresh Angadi got the highest margin of votes of 89,663 votes in Belagavi South whereas it as around 75,000 in the last election and lowest 10,164 votes in Savadatti constituency. BJP is representing the assembly in both the constituencies.BJP Candidate Suresh AngadiAngadi, elected for the fourth consecutive term got 55,293 votes more than Congress candidate Dr VS Sadhunavar in Arabhavi constituency where former BJP minister Balchandra Jarkiholi is representing, Angadi got the margin of 55,293 in Gokak where Congres dissidence Ramesh Jarkiholi is representing. In spite Ramesh Jarkiholi had indirectly campaigned for BJP, Congress has got 44,920 votes. Angadi got 28,428 lead in Belagavi North where BJP MLA Anil Benake representing.However, Congress, where it defeated BJP candidate Sanjay Patil with more than a lakh vote in last assembly election, has rolled down by 74,658 votes to BJP. Congress’ Laxmi Hebbalkar representing the constituency. Congress was defeated with 37,569 votes in its candidates’ native Bailhongal constituency and it rolled back with 31,682 votes in Ramdurga.While, BJP candidate Annasaheb Jolle won from Chikkodi has got second minimum votes of 11,744 in his native town Nippani. His wife Shashikala Jolle representing BJP in the Assembly. He got the margin of 14,861 votes against Congress candidate Prakash Hukkeri at the latter’ son MLA Ganesh Hukkeri’ constituency Chikkodi-Sadalaga, 33,523 margins at Athani, 17,792 at Kagwad, 13,077 at Kudachi, 21,221 at Raibag, 31,056 at Hukkeri and lowest margin of 2,809 at Yamakanamaradi constituency.
