Belagavi: Railway Minister for State, Suresh Angadi, representing Belagavi for the fourth consecutive term dreamt of the arrival of Rani Channamma Express Train Between Bengaluru-Miraj, to Belagavi before 6-7 in the morning and extending the Intercity Train between Bengaluru-Dharwad to Belagavi.

When Angadi elected first time there was uncertainty about plying of planes between Bengaluru and Belagavi. All the MPs representing North Karnataka used to land at Bengaluru from Delhi and to their destinations by road or train. Representatives from Belagavi, Dharwad, Vijayapur, Bagalkot used to travel through Rani Channamma Express which departs Bengaluru at 8.30 pm and reaches Hubballi next day at around 5.30 in the morning and Belagavi at around 8.30 am. Sometimes it reaches around 10 am.

The arrival time was not comfortable for business and working class, they had urged Angadi to ask the Railway ministry to ensure reaching the train before 7 in the morning. Angadi brought the demand to the Railway Ministry and suggested to increase the speed of the train after it departs Harihar which could reach Hubballi at around 4 am and Belagavi between 6-7am. However, his counterparts who used to alight at Hubballi station told him not to plead for the demand as they only have got adjusted the train timing according to their convenience with their influence in the Railway Ministry. They told the reason to Angadi that they scare to go home because of the trouble from the stray dogs.

Now, Angadi has got a fantastic opportunity to come true his dreams as he has got the ultimate post. People hope that the train arrival time may change, Intercity may run till Belagavi, pending demands like rail between Kolhapur-Dharwad via Belagavi and Savadatti along the national highway.
