Belagavi: Acting swiftly, the Shahapur police arrested three people who robbed a person with a Smart Phone and cash of ₹2,000, just within 3 hours from getting filed a complaint.

The robbers have been identified as Akash Pradeep Herekar, 20, Akshay Pradeep Herekar, 21, and Rahul Gurunath Nayakwadi, 24, all from Navi Galli in Shahapur.

The accused allegedly waylaid 52-year Sannakallappa Jinagouda when he was moving on Vadagoan road near Gomatesh Vidyapeeth, with the knives and snatched his cellphone costing ₹12,000 and also cash of ₹2,000 from him at around 11 am. Jinagouda had filed a complaint with Shahapur police station who acted sharply and managed to round-up the accused. The robbers were said to be the habitual offenders who were in the list of police, which made police team led by Inspector Javeed Mushapure to close the file in a few hours of the incident.
